They are all Italian and all in some way draw on the theme of memory. This is true even when they deal with current sporting events associated with the imminent inauguration of the Winter Olympics. There are ten of them and for the most part they are held in the most reserved cultural circuits, outside the mainstream. It’s even better when they’re out of town, bringing historic residences to life with gleams and flashes of good design
A focus on sustainability in a comparison between smart materials and technology
The Dutch FRAME Magazine ponders whether smart materials are perhaps more valuable resources for design than technology itself, in dialogue with an exceptional designer: “the most effective solutions don’t all rely on the latest technological advances. Pulling from her training in biology, Los Angeles-based Doris Sung, founder and principal of DOSU Studio Architecture, has dedicated her career to finding architectural applications for self-sufficient smart materials that better respond to nature and human needs” (read here the complete article)
