Spoon
Category: Lighting
Spoon is the new urban lighting system designed by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia for the Cariboni Group.
The project is the result of a severe but lucid observation: the outdoor luminaire has been relegated to either a hyper-technological or pseudo-classical dimension for far too long. But when defining urban comfort, lighting needs to be synchronised with contemporary scenarios. This is why the new line of products defines urban luminaires that can communicate with and react to constantly changing contexts. They are not indifferent objects. These objects are integrated and consistent with the rewriting of cities.
Spoon meets the challenge of designing a dynamic element, which is almost a living body that can suit different scales, shapes and positions between the specific location and the overall environment. The collaboration between the Alfonso Femia studio and the company has therefore produced three different-sized urban luminaires that can be wall or ceiling-mounted, fitted on tall, sharp vertical poles or low cylindrical rods.
Cariboni Group has decided to integrate its Eco-Centric Lighting optical systems in this new product line as they offer the night a new balance of light and darkness while respecting the biological rhythms of flora and fauna
