Blu Ponti in Grès Maiolicato®
Category: Coatings
The strength of the Grès Maiolicato® is coloured in blue for Blu Ponti Collection of Ceramica Francesco De Maio.
The white and blue majolica tiles designed by Gio Ponti in 1960 now enter a new innovative dimension. Without failing to use the ancient art of piece by piece hand-made decoration, the tiles enrich the technical characteristics of quality, resistance, impermeability, frost resistance longevity and anti-slip typical of a special stoneware support.
The shades of blue of the sky and sea of Sorrento are highlighted by the Master decorators who hand-paint the 33 decorations designed by Gio Ponti on this technical stoneware support, Grès Maiolicato®, used for both indoors and outdoors, and Grès Maiolicato® Anti-slip R10 especially suitable for swimming pools.
This is how the Blu Ponti Collection innovates technologically its craftsmanship enahncing the value of a precious re-edition of the iconic white and blue tiles created by Gio Ponti to pave, with different combinations, the hall and the hundred rooms of the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, the first design hotel in the world.
The infinite blue combinations by Gio Ponti, the value of the Blu Ponti Collection and the charm of the ancient craftsmanship of the hand-decorated majolica tiles merged with the strength of an exclusive stoneware support, even non-slip finish, to create a unique innovation: Blu Ponti in Grès Maiolicato®.

though over the centuries people have delighted themselves coming up with endless different designs,
there’s always room for one more, there’s always room for your design...»

the blue sky, the blue sea, and, faraway on the horizon,

Said the architect: let blue and white be on the outside,
the architecture, and let white and blue be on the inside».
