What’s a moment in the virtual world? For the premise of his INSERT COIN collection, Jan Kath drew on the works of Raphael Brunk, a frankfurt-based artist. Screenshots of arcade games, which rose to popularity in the1970s and transfixed video gamers all over the world, are the starting point of Brunk’s works: Sometimes it’s a nocturnal boulevard with colorful neon signs, at others an emptybeach in the morning with no one insight, or the frozen scene of an exciting car chase on the streets of Miami. The rugs are hand knotted in highland wool and silk.
