Notching up its 63rd edition, the Salone is consolidating its role a promoter of the culture of design, highlighting the importance of design as a tool for reading and shaping the world, changing it for the better. To this end, the event will see the involvement of authoritative voices in the sector, who will contribute unprecedented points of view and visions. Furthermore, this year’s content strategy is focused on quality, diversification and multi-platform distribution, reflecting the complexity and richness of stories that characterise the world of design.
Three site-specific installations, at the Salone and in the city
Three site-specific installations will be the stars of the 2025 Salone. The French architect Pierre-Yves Rochon will present his visionary interior design project entitled Villa Héritage in Pavilions 13-15. The project introduces the experience of A Luxury Way, an unprecedented exhibition dedicated to timeless living, because inheritance should not be a constraint but a source of freedom. The Villa Héritage installation affirms the importance of time and experience in an approach to interior design inspired by tradition but revisited in a contemporary key.
Paolo Sorrentino is the author of La dolce attesa, the installation at the entrance to Pavilions 22-24, dedicated to a universal experience: waiting. In the worlds of the Oscar-winning filmmaker, “Waiting is agony. The sweet anticipation of pregnancy is a journey. A stunning and mesmerising one.” A middle ground where everything is still possible, where everything can – or could be sweeter. The project has been developed with input from Margherita Palli, a scenographer with a forty-year career behind her.
The renowned American artist Robert Wilson has devised Mother, with music by Arvo Pärt, at the Rondanini Pietà Museum – Sforzesco Castle in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan | Culture. In the year of Euroluce, Wilson is presenting a “total work” dedicated to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, recognised, along with Leonardo’s Last Supper, as one of the most iconic works of art in Milan.
