Everything, absolutely everything about the upcoming edition: from 16 to 21 April, the most important international event for the design industry is back 

 

Here we are: tomorrow the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano kicks off. From 16 to 21 April, the world of design will once again be the centerpiece in the spaces of Fiera Milano Rho. To be prepared, here are the main innovations to bear in mind this year.  

Salone 2024: all the news you need to know

- The new communication campaign “Where Design Evolves” by Publicis Groupewith the scientific collaboration of Paolo Ciuccarelli; 

- The optimization of the layouts and paths, a makeover made possible by the neurosciences, in synergy with Lombardini22;

- The biennial EuroCucina/ FTK, Technology For the Kitchen and the International Bathroom Exhibition are back;

- “Connecting Design since 1998” is the theme of the SaloneSatellite, this year celebrating its 25th edition. From 16 to 28 April, the event dedicated to designers under 35 arrives in the spaces of La Triennale, with an exhibition project curated by Beppe Finessi and set up by Ricardo Bello Dias.

Three large installations to discover

- “Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room” (Pavilions 5-7) is the title of the site-specific installation designed by an outstanding figure: the famous filmmaker David Lynch. The project is curated by Antonio Monda 

- “Under the Surface" (Pavilion 10) is the installation designed and created by Emiliano Ponzi, Accurat and Design Group Italia for the International Bathroom Exhibition. 

- “All You Have Ever Wanted to Know About Food Design in Six Performances" (Pavilions 2-4) is the title of the project that explores the world of food and design at EuroCucina, with the contribution of six independent and international food magazines. 

A rich program of cultural events 

- The program of Talks and Round Tables is entitled “Drafting Futures. Conversations about Next Perspectives” and is curated by Annalisa Rosso. The morning talks will be held at 11 a.m. in the “Drafting Futures” Arena (pavilion 14) designed by Formafantasma. 

- The Arena will host a new project: the Salone Library, also designed by the duo Formafantasma. Right next door will be the Corraini Mobile Bookshop, curated by Corraini Edizioni, with a wide range of international titles from over 110 publishers. 

- Design Kiosk is a temporary space that offers a rich cultural program, a selection of publications and exclusive products related to the world of design. A special project designed by Frederik De Wachter and Alberto Artesani, founders of DWA Design Studio, in co-creation with Interbrand. From 8 to 21 April in Piazza della Scala in Milan.
