Odoodem

Odoodem I and Odoodem II are striking bronze sculptures by Belgian artist Guy Buseyne, inspired by the concept of totems. The term ‘totem’ originates from the Native American Anishinaabe people, who use totems to define roles and responsibilities, and to connect generations within clans through shared wisdom and knowledge. A totem may represent a supernatural being, an object or animal with which a clan feels strongly connected. Odoodem I and Odoodem II offer a modern interpretation of this concept. They represent both individual and collective identities, illustrating how we learn from and with one another, shaping society across generations.
