Shifting Perspectives

Throughout his work, Cornelius Vandeputte uses shapes that evoke movement, tension, and emotion. As a former dancer, he integrates dance into all of his designs. Shifting Perspectives, a chrome-plated bronze sculpture, is a stunning example of this. With smooth, curving surfaces that change as you move around it, the sculpture shows two intertwined figures. At different angles, an interplay of open and closed spaces appear. From one perspective, a masculine profile emerges, while from another, shapes resembling plants and caves take form, symbolizing the choreography of nature and life
