A drop of dew resting on a branch; this is the idea behind Drop, the beautiful and sophisticated outdoor beacon. Its designers, Naiara Caballero and Till Armbrüster from the studio Licht Kunst Licht, have combined their passion and expertise to present a new design that brings soft but generous light to its surroundings.
In Drop, the light emerges from inside a solid sphere of glass, a noble, robust and durable material that’s perfect for outdoor use. An almost magical element that mixes its materiality with the light it emits, reflecting the surroundings and capturing its own glints of light. The sphere can rotate and adapt to different positions while its glass, like water, constantly transforms our perception of what’s inside. It also includes a honeycomb panel to prevent glare. Its support is a simplified, practical structure that tilts the light to offer more visual comfort.
For Naiara and Till, designing an outdoor lamp is a complex interaction between the light source, the object itself and its surroundings, and in all their products the illumination always determines the form. This is substantiated by Drop, a fine, slender design that conceals a highly functional beacon. When switched on, its design disappears, blending in with the surroundings and giving way to subtle lighting with slight gradations to illuminate paths, gardens, architecture or vegetation in the midst of nature.
Available in heights of 60 and 90 cm and in 2 finishes - black and rust brown.
