The Makalu chair transcends functionality, positioning itself as a design piece. Its shape contrasts the tension of granite and its curves, celebrating the meeting of advanced technology and precision craftsmanship. Tresore Design is a Brazilian brand that transforms natural stones into unique furniture, combining art, technique and refinement. The company combines tradition and innovation, using artisanal and industrial techniques to create furniture that celebrates the beauty and exclusivity of natural materials. With an approach that fuses concept, technology and functionality, Tresore is dedicated to creating timeless pieces that transcend trends and become true icons in the daily lives of its customers. Its collections are distinguished by the balance between minimalist forms, the visual impact of stone, and the application of advanced technologies such as CNC machining and high-precision finishes. In addition, the company values Brazilianness and sustainability, using consciously formed domestic materials and promoting design as an expression of Brazilian culture on the global stage. Each creation reflects a commitment to uniqueness, where beauty, sophistication, and utility meet in harmony. Designed by Fernanda Freire The Makalu Chair is a celebration of the monumentality of mountains and unspoiled nature, geography and Brazilianness. Inspired by the essence of Makalu, one of the world's highest mountains, the chair translates its majesty and mysterious beauty into a unique design. Made of Makalu granite, a natural Brazilian rock that reflects the geological richness of the state of Minas Gerais, the chair highlights the contrast between the deep black background and the white and gray veins that run across its surface, as if they were rivers and paths carved by time. Mirror polishing intensifies the nuances of the material, reflecting light dramatically and giving the chair a sculptural presence, almost as if it were alive. Its design evokes the soft lines of towering mountains, connecting the brute force of nature with the delicacy of contemporary design. The Makalu Chair transcends functionality, positioning itself as a piece that combines art, design, and the power of nature. Its fluid form, carved with precision, reveals the contrast between the tension of granite and the expertise of its curves, challenging the perception of solid materials. The piece explores the richness of Brazilian materials and celebrates the meeting of advanced technology and precision craftsmanship. Mirror polishing not only highlights the uniqueness of Makalu granite, but also gives the chair an aura of refinement and exclusivity, ensuring that each piece is unique and unrepeatable. The Makalu chair reflects Tresore Design's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the timeless beauty of Brazilian natural stone. From the heart of the earth to the essence of design. Product name Makalu Chair Designer Fernanda Freire Materials Granite Dimensions 600x870x809mm. Production process The manufacturing process of the Makalu chair involves highly technical and creative steps that combine the design, programming, and operation of advanced machines such as CNC and single wire machines. A rough block of Makalu granite is carefully selected, taking into account the orientation of the grain, to maximize the visual impact of the final piece. The single-wire machine comes into play to cut the block to the right dimensions, ensuring that the material is optimized for the machining process. Once the block is prepared, the CNC runs the previously generated program. The process begins with initial roughing, in which large volumes of material are removed, and moves on to finishing stages, in which smaller, more precise tools refine the details of the part. During machining, constant water cooling is essential to prevent overheating of the tool and minimize microcracks in the rock. After machining, the piece is removed from the machine for a manual polishing process, in which curved surfaces and edges are polished, highlighting the Makalu granite's natural veins and cores. This finishing work gives the piece its unique identity and elevates its quality.
