The biennial exhibition returns with a new look for the most intimate room in the home: once again technology translates into well-being

Starting from the forms, above all. But also the materials, the colors and technological research: the bathroom needs to create a soothing mood, making for a moment that is really one of personal well-being, away from the hectic life that we lead every day.

Day 5: International Bathroom Exhibition

At the 8th edition since the creation of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, the International Bathroom Exhibition confirms companies’ trend towards products that combine design with eco-friendly  functionality, ranging from water saving to the use of low-impact, recyclable and circular materials, digital activation systems and voice recognition to taps and fittings that reduce consumption by as much as 50%. Furnishings, accessories, shower cabins, porcelain sanitary wares and radiators all the way to taps and bathtubs with minimal visual impacts or a wealth of allusions to nature, sometimes even playing with irony.

The twin of DESIGNin the Kitchen, DESIGNin the Bathroom is the installation curated by the architect Alessandro Colombo with Paola Garbuglio devoted to bathroom products. Featuring winners of the Compasso d'Oro, it presents furnishings that dialogue with and around water and that have made their mark in the history of lifestyle, society and the modern home.

Arblu is presenting two novelties: Tuby, notable for the use of drawn tubular elements, consisting of die-cast joints and extruded aluminum profiles for a young and informal style, and PietrabluTM, a system of decorative textures engineered by Arblu and completely made in Italy.

Ceadesign presents Abaco, a modular, simple and linear system, one capable of enclosing all the elements of the bathroom in a single piece of furniture: a silent and elegant object, completely made out of stainless steel, a hygienic, antibacterial material, fully recyclable and ideal in the healthcare environment.

Marcel is the name of the vanity unit with washbasin designed by Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzato for Ceramica Cielo. It unites curved solid wood with Vienna straw (rush) in a concept inspired by the sinuous and rational lines of the Bauhaus.

The Cristina Rubinetterie stand, designed by Elisa Ossino, unfolds around two bathtubs placed on a central directional axis flooded with light from two skylights. Ranged around them, as in a museum exhibit, are the brand's collections of taps and fittings. The novelty is Fractal, by designer Soo K. Chan, inspired by the geometric form of the prism.

The EX.T Swing collection, created in collaboration with Fabio Fantolino, recalls early 20th-century design: walnut wood is combined with colored LivingTec to interpret an ambiance and tastes with a retro atmosphere in a contemporary key.

Falper is featuring two lines: Living Bathroom™ with the brand’s collections that have become iconic now available in new finishes in marble, wood, lacquered and Cristalplant® Bio Active, and its new Small Living Kitchens™ designed for compact spaces.

Flaminia presents the Spire+ project by Elena Salmistraro, a support collection that recalls natural and organic elements. The washbasin is enriched with a raised pattern evoking the spirals of a seashell and is available in a wide range of finishes as a monochrome version.

The Hinokisoken brand draws on the ancient tradition of Japanese joinery using Hinoki wood in two shades for bathtubs with simple and relaxing forms, designed by Motomi Kawakami.

With Progetto Bagno, Itlas enriches the concept of the total wood look in the home.  Le Righe Fineline is three-dimensional boiserie that can be laid either vertically or horizontally. It is an Ecos product, the sustainable circular economy design by which the brand seeks to minimize the waste from processing the raw material.

The ecological theme unites Quadrodesign and Formafantasma in the FFQT project: a collection focused on the circular form that, in addition to the classic single-hole models, washbasin and bidet, wall-mounted elements, bathtub and shower, provides a special outdoor shower column (the indoor version is being developed) that can be attached to an ordinary garden hose.

SDR  presents the sanitary furnishings in the Revolution® collection styled in collaboration with the designer Luca Papini in Livin-Stone®, an eco-friendly, recyclable and antibacterial material that makes for clear, sharply defined 90° perimeter edges and perfect surfaces free from porosity. The WC is 75% recyclable and its production saves more than 70% combustible energy, while the bidet is 100% recyclable.
