Al “supersalone” l’ufficio diventa versatile

Smart-working has helped turn furniture solutions hybrid, with desks for the home and sharing systems in the office. How has workplace design changed? We look for the answer among sixteen previews of items coming to the Fair

Home office solutions, versatile furniture suited to both work and home, modular and customizable systems designed for the emerging needs of “liquid”, smart, remote (but not only) work, with the onus on sustainability and high-quality materials… Companies are showcasing their products at the “supersalone”, heralding a step change as elements increasingly become interchangeable. Here are some sneak previews.

Arper, Kinesit Met (Pav 04, Stand D 02)

An evolution of the Kinesit seat designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, now available with metal finish armrests and new materials, colours and textures. Designed for new ways of working, Kinesit Met offers greater flexibility, adaptability and scope for positioning.

Caimi Brevetti, Snowgem (Pav 02, Stand G 11)

Designed by a+b (Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro), this sound-absorbent panel system literally “slips” onto different types of structure: totems, modular partitions, ceiling and wall modules.

CUF Milano, Fusion Green (Pav 03, Stand F 26)

The office furniture system John Bennett and Sakura Adachi designed in 2018 now comes in a green version: its partition panels, made out of bioplastic manufactured from coffee waste by Krill Design, purify the air thanks to the Natede system developed by Vitesy.

Estel, Squid (Pav 04, Stand H 08)

Francesco Favaretto’s Squid Home Office desk is part of a series of products the company designed for the home environment from a professional standpoint, with ergonomics, certification and safety their inspiring principles.

Fantoni, Meet Up (Pav 04, Stand F 01)

A collection spawned by new executive space needs, less “individual”, more dedicated to moments of being together, with an eye to home comfort and decorative choices thanks to the outgoing personality of Calacatta or Noir marble.

Infiniti, Sys (Pav 03, Stand F 18)

Designed by mC.dsg, a modular sofa suited to waiting rooms, workspaces, museums, restaurants, schools, stores, and meeting/sharing areas, made with a painted tubular steel frame, fire-retardant foam seating, and accessories such as tables and armrests.

IOC, Lodovica (Pav 04, Stand A 04)

A small armchair designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti that adapts to many working and casual environments, with a round base wrapped around a thin backrest; the metal base comes either in chrome, or powder-coated white/black epoxy.

Knoll, KN07 (Pav 02, Stand E 20)

The latest addition to the KN collection, together with the KN06 armchair, the KN07 armless chair is presented in a new version with a columnar base. Upholstered in fabric or leather, it is equally well-suited to completing a domestic corner dedicated to work or a home office.

LaCividina, Node+ (Pav 02, Stand L 10)

Designed by Ben van Berkel of UNStudio, this micro-architecture solution was conceived with flexibility in mind: it is, in fact, a system designed for both home and group spaces where many people meet, each with a specific need.

Malerba, Taylor (Pav 01, Stand B 03)

Armchair made with padding in different-density polyurethane foam, with a leather or fabric covering. Available in two versions, with a metal swivel base or metal feet, both in a black chrome finish. Design: Telemaco.

Martex, Biblos (Pav 03, Stand D 23)

A modular and customizable bookcase consisting of an aluminium frame to which shelves, backs, drawers, doors, planters, cushions, and TV compartments may be added. Suited to the office; suited to the home.

MDF Italia, Neil Leather (Pav 02, Stand D 26)

An evolution of Neil, a seat launched in 2018 designed by Jean Marie Massaud, this item was conceived for large living areas, reception spaces, workplaces, and domestic environments. With a black chrome steel supporting structure and full-grain leather upholstery.

Santambrogiomilano, Simplicity collection (Pav 01, Stand F 02)

Bookcases, tables, benches, this line of furniture is made out of extra-clear, 15 + 15 mm (laminated and tempered) transparent glass, customizable and assembled using a patented formula. One of the most recent additions to the collection is a ping pong table that may also be repurposed for other functions.

Santambrogiomilano, collezione Simplicity

Scab, Squid (Pav 01, Stand H 06)

Designed by the RadiceOrlandini studio, this versatile table adapts to different environments. It may be fitted with HPL or marble tops, of fixed size or extendable. The design’s hallmark feature is its die-cast aluminium leg, combined with metal frames in different shapes and sizes.

Tacchini, Victoria (Pav 02, Stand L 19)

A modular system designed by David/Nicolas around a tube support structure, Victoria may be reconfigured for the space in which it is located, making it particularly suitable for contract use.
