Category: Taps
The triangular base gives the tap a distinctive shape while the lever becomes a seamless aesthetic play. A versatile series that can be used in any context.
CRISTINA Rubinetterie, in collaboration with Giampiero Castagnoli, has designed and produced a series of mixer taps inspired by the geometric shape of the triangle. The PROFILO series consists of a triangular body, combined with a more curved surface in its upper part, and its lower part has been divided into several sections, to give the product a slim, slender silhouette, yet which is harmonious on the whole. The spout is slightly longer than the body.
The mixer tap lever also maintains this balance between its upper part, mellowed down using curved lines, and its lower part, with its triangular structure. By lifting the lever, the shape of the equilateral triangle is enhanced defining the entire body of the mixer tap. The completely inspectable aerator remains semi-recessed with a 20° inclination tracing a diagonal line down towards the end of the spout, making it discreet and barely noticeable. Moreover, this inclination further contributes to orienting the jet towards the centre of the bathroom fixture, increasing its comfort of use. Both washbasin top-mounted and wall-mounted bathtub mixer taps have triangular cast brass body sections.
Design details of the series include the slim, rectangular water spout and the equally tapered control lever to ensure an ergonomic grip.
Furthermore, its structure allows a considerable refraction of light, making it a totally unique tap. In spite of its geometry with clear, strong lines, it remains soft and comfortable to the touch, with an extremely ergonomic handle. PROFILO has no sharp edges, but wide curves, therefore it can be installed in any context, fulfilling the expectations of those who seek a high-quality product, 100% Made in Italy with a fresh, modern appeal.
PROFILE presents a complete range, produced either with chrome finish or, alternatively, in six different galvanic solutions and two with a powder coated finish. In addition to the finishes shown, a PVD coating is available in a wide variety of colours upon request for special supplies.
Giampiero Castagnoli graduated in mechanical engineering in 1974 and began his career in the bathroom furnishings sector, from product design to management roles at a leading company. Important patents have enriched the range of his products, with a significant evolution in the field of taps and fittings, such as the PWS, Printed Water System, which involves the elimination of the casting process and the use of only drawn brass, which excludes the release of lead. He has received numerous awards and recognitions over the years (ADI Ceramics Design Awards, Design Plus, Gran Design Etico, ADI Index, Compasso d'Oro) and has published in specialist magazines and university texts. Since 2008 he has been working as a freelancer, putting his experience to use in the service of companies across the sector.
