Alice Rawsthorn is an award-winning design critic and author, whose books include Design as an Attitude, Hello World: Where Design Meets Life and, most recently, Design Emergency: Building a Better Future. Her weekly design column for The New York Times was syndicated worldwide for over a decade.

In all her work, Alice champions design’s potential as a social, political and ecological tool.

Rybakken started Studio Daniel Rybakken in 2008 in Sweden and has since then become one of Scandinavias most highly awarded and internationally acclaimed designers. He has worked with leading furniture companies such as Luceplan (Italy), Artek (Finland), Vitra (Switzerland), Karimoku (Japan) and HAY (Danmark), and on industrial design with companies like Panasonic (Japan), Givenchy (LVMH, France) and has Art Director for Interior and Exterior Illumination Concepts for Volvo and Polestar (Sweden).

He was born in Milan in 1958.

He took his degree in Economics and Commerce from Milan’s Bocconi University, specialising in industrial economics/marketing.

His first job was for the Fininvest Group in 1984; he then went on to take up important positions at Publitalia working his way up to becoming General Manager of the Lombardy Trade Directorate.

Marco Sammicheli is curator of the design, fashion, crafts sector at Triennale Milano and Director of Museo del Design Italiano. He's a visiting lecturer at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Tel Aviv. After graduating in Communication Science from the University of Siena and specializing in History of Design at the Bauhaus in Weimar, he earned a doctorate in design and technology for the development of cultural heritage at Politecnico di Milano.

Born in Biella in 1992, Teo Sandigliano is an Italian designer who currently lives and works in Milan. In 2017 he founded his own studio, Teo Sandigliano Design, which mainly deals with communication, design and research, between Milan and Biella.

Suzanne Santos has played an integral role in Aesop’s development since its establishment in Melbourne in 1987, having been consistently involved in critical aspects of the company’s evolution—first in Australia, and then across the globe. 

(1988) Sanzarello is a furniture stylist and set designer. Classically educated, she graduated in Interior design at Milan’s Polytechnic she currently lives, works and teaches in Milan.
Her collaborations with companies and communication agencies allow her to range from design to fashion, from retail to editorial pieces. As an accumulator of special and natural objects, she is particularly interested in researching the emotions that each object can spark, and loves to compose still lifes to orchestrate photographic interpretations tuned into the most original contemporary trends.

Serena is a journalist and Head of Content at MoSt, the creative agency of Studio Editoriale. She is the managing editor of Urbano, a magazine on culture in urban spaces and cities. Serena is a lecturer on magazine design at Naba and brand journalism at Luiss University. She is author of the book “Communication: less is more”. Serena was born in Pescara, and has been living in Milan for 15 years. She has lived in Rome, Madrid, and Bruxelles.

Peter-Philipp Schmitt first met Marva Griffin in Milan in 2002. It was his first Salone del Mobile and her fifth SaloneSatellite. He was impressed by the sheer number of young designers from all over the world who had the opportunity to show their work at this widely celebrated fair. Since then he has visited the SaloneSatellite every year, partly to seek out up-and-coming German designers, to write about them, such as, for example, Sebastian Herkner from Offenbach, whom Schmitt discovered in 2009 and who is now world renowned. 

Always in search of the detail that makes the difference, of the content that stands out, of innovation that looks beyond, she uses her training as an architect to build editorial projects.

(Milan, 1988). He specializes in film photography, blending portraiture, architecture, landscape, conceptual, and fashion photography. With an eye for simple moments with cinematic quality, vibrant saturated colours, high exposure and contrast, he creates individual, stand alone works that frame an intimate connection between viewer and subject – adding on his distinctive tone of irony and imagination.  

Libby Sellers is a design historian, independent curator and writer based in London.

She was former senior curator of London’s Design Museum (2000-2007) and supported emerging design through her eponymous gallery (2007-2015). Now Libby focuses on writing and curation for personal initiatives, private galleries and public institutions, including her most recent for Frieze New York 2020 on the materiality of colour. She has authored numerous essays, catalogues and publications on design.

Diletta Sereni directs l'Integrale, a magazine-book published by Iperborea that chronicles contemporaneity through food. She has written for Marie Claire, Vice, Corriere della Sera and other newspapers. She has a doctorate in visual semiotics and has taught semiotics at IED Milan.

Valentina Silvestrini (1982) is an architect and architectural editor with more of ten years’ experience on web and paper. She has been on the editorial staff of Artribune since 2012, and, since 2016, she is the coordinator of the Artribune architectural channel. For the same cultural platform, since 2024 she also cocurates the newsletter Render. She studied architecture at La Sapienza University of Rome, the city where she obtained professional qualification in architecture.

For more than 30 years, Snøhetta has designed some of the world’s most notable public and cultural projects. Snøhetta kick-started its career in 1989 with the competition-winning entry for the new library of Alexandria, Egypt. This was later followed by the commission for the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet in Oslo, and the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion at the World Trade Center in New York City, among many others.
