CUSHION – LELLI DE ORLEANS E BRAGANÇA

Lelli de Orleans e Bragança is a refined, accomplished, and meticulous visual artist who portrays lush green forest landscapes and the Brazilian biome in her works with perfectionism and an admirable, impressive richness of detail. Her canvases are like windows that showcase Brazil’s tropical landscapes to the world.

Through the 1+1+by Kamy social project, Lelli’s paintings were translated into the textile world using different embroidery techniques, transforming them into stunning tapestries and cushion covers.

It was an immense challenge—one that only meticulous and delicate work with fine threads could rise to—resulting in pieces worthy of the artist’s originals. The birds placed among the landscapes and trees in Lelli’s scenes seem to come to life through the interwoven threads of embroidery. The forest scenes become even more striking when one notices the variety of stitches that create a sense of depth.

The cushion collection, in turn, focuses on the different bird species found in the exuberant fauna of the Atlantic Forest, which Lelli so masterfully depicts in her artworks. The collection highlights species such as the Saira, the Surucuá, and the Bem-te-vi—recurring characters and symbolic figures in her paintings—that now make their way into the textile world.
