The Nanjing Study is a drawing created by Victor Brecheret on paper with original dimensions of 0.60m x 0.90m. With a religious theme, it makes us mention that he created many sculptures for mausoleums of traditional coffee-producing families in São Paulo. Sculptures that reflected Brecheret's ability to create powerful and reverent pieces, and that today, perpetuate the artist's cultural and artistic legacy. Brecheret's projects were many, he had inexhaustible forces to produce and create. Always serious, he said that the artist marks his passage in this life through the monuments he leaves for posterity. By Kamy is the brand authorized by the Victor Brecheret Institute to represent the artist's drawings in tapestries and rugs. Tapestry made by the embroiderers of the social project 1+1+by Kamy, in free hand embroidery, mixing various types of stitches with different techniques created by them.

ARTISTA VICTO BRECHERET

Victor Victor Brecheret was born on December 15, 1894, in the town of Farnese, Viterbo province, Italy. Orphaned at a very young age, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Augusto and Paulina Nanni.

Since childhood, he loved making clay figures, which he would bake in the oven at home. One day, while walking down the street, he found a magazine on the ground with photographic illustrations of Auguste Rodin's works; this discovery inspired him to decide what he wanted to become in the future: a sculptor! At 18, he started attending the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios, taking classes in drawing, modeling, and wood carving.

During the day, he worked at his uncle's shoe factory, and at night, he attended the course. After almost two years of study, one of the teachers at the Liceu called his aunt and said: “Ma'am, we can’t teach this boy anything more. He has incredible talent. If you could take him to Rome or Paris, there he could learn whatever he wants. He has so much talent; I think it would be worth it.”
