By Kamy

For the fifth consecutive time, by Kamy is taking part in Milan Design Week 2025, innovating from an expertise in design built over nearly 40 years in the market.
Invited by the Brazilian Furniture sectorial project — an initiative by Abimóvel in partnership with ApexBrasil — by Kamy will serve as an ambassador of Brazilian weaving across three distinct spaces.
Two of these will be located inside the Salone del Mobile (April 8–13): an exclusive stand in the area dedicated to Brazilian brands, and the exhibition of a piece from Studio by Kamy in the Design + Industry showcase, another key initiative by Brazilian Furniture.
In addition to the Salone, the brand will also be part of the Fuorisalone circuit, participating in the Brazilian exhibition held from April 7 to 13, which will remain open to the public until April 17.
In 2025, by Kamy unveils an exclusive curation of rugs, tapestries, and cushions. A common thread runs through each creation: inspiration drawn from the richness of Brazil’s ecosystems, art, and culture — elements intertwined with a certified handcrafted production proudly Made in Brazil.
The new pieces translate, through signature design, the grandeur of nature and its diverse biomes, incorporating textures, forms, and patterns inspired by the country’s rich biodiversity — capturing landscapes that range from tropical forests to desert regions, from the ocean depths to mountain peaks.
At the same time, the collection celebrates Brazilian art and culture, honoring the legacy of national artists and the cultural heritage built over centuries.
Inspired by the artistic expressions that have shaped the country — from ancestral techniques to the richness of modernism, from folk weaving to contemporary art — this is an authentic design language that preserves memory while projecting Brazilian identity onto the global stage through a blend of techniques, materials, peoples, and cultures that have always formed the creative essence of by Kamy.
At Milan, the brand presents a new series of tapestries, crafted for the first time in Brazil, reinterpreting iconic works of the Brazilian modernist movement, including those by Tarsila do Amaral and Victor Brecheret.
Additionally, by Kamy expands the collection signed by Lelli de Orléans e Bragança — an artist celebrated for her vibrant interpretation of the Atlantic Forest — bringing Brazilian nature to life through tapestries and cushions embroidered with stunning richness of detail.
All of these pieces were developed through the social project 1+1+by Kamy — an initiative that not only promotes social inclusion, but also places Brazil, for the first time, at the forefront of global textile design through strong ESG practices.
The pieces were created by artisans who, until recently, worked in coffee fields in the southern region of Minas Gerais. Through embroidery, they have become co-authors of tapestries and cushions that embody the cultural identity of Brazil, while also reflecting the labor and legacy of their families.
Conceived by visual artist Elisa Lobo as a tool for transformation and social inclusion through art, the project has reached new scale and purpose thanks to the vision of Kamyar Abrarpour, CEO of by Kamy, and the creative direction of co-founder Francesca Alzati.
Today, the goal is to train these women in embroidery, preserving traditional artisanal knowledge and strengthening the local economy. The revival of an old factory in the region marks a crucial milestone — offering employment and new opportunities not only for these women, but for the entire community.
Beyond mastering the fundamentals, the embroiderers are granted full creative freedom to invent new techniques and stitches, going beyond convention to craft unique textures and dimensional reliefs within each piece.
The production involves not only original designs created by the in-house by Kamy team, but also collaborations with designers, architects, artists, companies, and creatives who wish to develop textile products that are both artistically meaningful and environmentally responsible.
